| Who Are These Women
These women are real, they are in prison. Information provided on the profile pages is supplied by the inmates themselves.
There are literally thousands of women in prison starving for friendship, love, and long term relationships. Many are very serious about building a new life with the right person. Although they are in prison, these women are not all "bad." Many are intelligent, beautiful, witty, sexy, passionate, religious and family oriented. Most have learned from their experience, some are still gaining insights into their behavior while, sadly, thee will always be a few for who rehabilitation is just not possible.
Some of the women on these pages have committed capital crimes, some are repeat offenders, and many have committed offenses relating to their drug use. Why? Some are guilty of tragic errors in judgment, some have very little education, and still others are the product their tortured pasts. Many of these women couldn’t pay a competent lawyer to advocate for them and were penalized as much for their poverty as for their crimes.
These women have made some mistakes in their past, but now they're looking forward to a much better; a future that includes YOU. We'll do our best to help you find the special friend, or even the lifetime companion, that you've been looking for. You'll find all different types of women in our profiles. Whatever qualities you seek, you'll find. And, you'll get to learn a a lot about each woman and her interests as you correspond with her. You can find that special woman who shares your interests and values.
Have patience!
Correspond with several women so that you can learn more about each one of them and really get to know who they are. Then, when the time is right, you'll be able to make an informed selection and let your heart be your guide.
Letters are important!
All women who are incarcerated enjoy receiving letters. It's very important for the women inside to feel that they haven't forgotten and are still connected to the outside world. Mail call can be the best part of the day...or the most devastating. Some women don't receive any letters and, with no money to buy stamps, stay isolated and alone.
It's important that you personalize each letter you send. These women didn't come down with yesterday's rain and are smart enough to know when they've received a "form letter". They have already been reduced to numbers in prison...don't make them feel like a number to you, too.
Profiles without photos are free!
Be sure to consider writing to the women without photos. Some facilities won't allow photos; some women simply do not have them and others simply don't want their face on the web, although they are happy to send a photo once they begin writing to someone.
Your chance of success is excellent!
Keep in mind that all of these women have already taken the first step by putting their ad on our site. If they didn't seriously want a relationship they would not have joined Women Doing Time!
What it means to "have a record"!
Consider this: 29 members of the United States Congress have been arrested for spousal abuse, 7 for fraud, 19 for writing bad checks, 3 for assault, 14 for drug related charges, 8 for shoplifting, 17 can't get a credit card due to bad credit, 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses, and in 1998 alone, 84 were stopped for drunk driving!
There are "criminals" and "mental cases" everywhere! Consider the possible consequences before you write your letters (or vote!)
Exercise good judgment and appropriate caution. Let your heart ...and your good sense ...be your guide.
